The campground of James Island County Park is just a short 6 miles from Charleston SC. This beautiful county park is on 643 acres and run by the Charleston County Parks association. There is so much to do here. They even have a shuttle to Folly Beach and downtown Charleston. The camp store is well stocked and the Activity Center onsite offers recreation, with ping-pong tables, a kitchen, and more. There is also saltwater fishing, disc golf, splash pad and even a climbing wall.
We camped here in October 2021 and really enjoyed this park. We loved riding our bikes on the paved trail around the lake. The sites are spaced for great privacy and plenty of shade. This is the nicest county park we have ever seen. DIRECTIONS:
