Myrtle Beach State Park was the first South Carolina state park to open in 1936. It includes one mile of undeveloped beach in Horry County. The land was donated by Myrtle Beach Farms in 1934. It was then developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a New Deal Program created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
We camped here in October 2021 and loved this park. We enjoyed the beach and riding our bikes. One of our favorite things to do was walk on the fishing pier. The pier offers amazing views of the park and a beautiful sunset. The park is quite large and we enjoyed riding our bikes through the park. Restaurants are close by and an easy bike ride. The trails are short but they lead to the beach and still fun to walk. We will definitely return to this park for another fun week DIRECTIONS: From I-95 N take exit 170 to merge on SC 327 south Left onto State Road S-21-24 Left onto US-301 N/US-76E Merge onto SC-41 Drive for about 20 miles Take the ramp to State Route 22 E/Myrtle Beach/N Myrtle beach Drive for about 25 miles Take the exit towards State Route 3 N/SC9 Google Maps Directions |
