Gilbert Ray Campground is managed by Pima County and located on the west side of the Tucson Mountains.  The registration building is staffed January through March only and has a self-pay station for the rest of the year.

We camped here in March 2018 for one night when visiting a high school friend in Tucson. We enjoyed hiking and seeing the amazing Sonora Desert Museum.  It is a quiet campground in the desert with beautiful sunsets. We would love to return and take advantage of all the hikes available.
