Lake Manatee State Park was created in the mid-1960s when a dam was built across the Manatee River. It extends three miles along the south shore of Lake Manatee, but sadly no manatees can be seen due to the dam blocking their access.
We camped here in December 2019 and enjoyed the short walk to the lake from the campsite. There are two miles of paved road inside the park for bicycling. There is a swimming beach in the day use area but there’s also alligators. DIRECTIONS :
Lake Manatee State Park is located 15 miles east of Bradenton FL, on State Road 64 |
