NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

Alafia River State Park
Tampa

Lithia Springs Regional Park is a 160-acre county park, located on the Alafia River, in Hillsborough County.  The park’s major attraction is the natural spring providing an excellent swimming experience since the water temperature remains at 72 degrees year around. In addition to swimming, there is a bath house, playground and picnic facilities.

We camped here in January 2016 on site #21 and enjoyed a very large level site with beautiful trees for shade. The road entering the campground is rather narrow and winding but we made it through with no problem in our 35 ft motorhome. The sites are shell rock and most are fairly level with trees. This is a county park and first come first served but the staff were very friendly and helpful in picking out the best site for us. The Alafia River runs behind the campground and can be seen from sites 41, 43 and 45. Site 40 is closest to the canoe launch with a path to the river.

Shopping is close in Lithia which is about 5 miles away or everything can be found in Brandon which is 8 miles away. We enjoyed our stay and would camp here again.

We did return in February 2017 in our motorhome and again in January 2018 in our Winnebago Travato van and was able to snag site #43 right on the river. We enjoyed this trip and love riding our bikes to Fishhawk Blvd to have lunch.
