NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

McRae, GA

Little Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge is located 2 miles north of McRae-Helena on the Little Ocmulgee River. During the depression in 1930 the Civilian Conservation Corps built part of the park around the natural diversion of the Little Ocmulgee River into a lake.

There is a white sandy beach at the lake with fishing docks and a boat ramp. The park also has a 60-room lodge and a championship 18-hole golf course with pro shop. The golf course is known as the Wallace Adams Memorial Golf Course.

We camped here during Halloween in October 2020 in our Coachmen Beyond van. We were able to camp in a tent site because we are so small. We enjoyed biking and hiking throughout the park. We also had a great lunch at the lodge in the restaurant overlooking the golf course.
