Murphy/Peace Valley KOA is in the Great Smokey Mountains and close to the town of Murphy NC. This is a great area for hiking, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. If you prefer the indoors, Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino is just a mile down the road.
We stayed here in June 2018 on our Southern Highlands Trail trip and enjoyed being by the water watching folks tube down the Valley River. The sites are shaded and the area is very relaxing. There is so much to do in this area and we only had two nights. We are not giving any review about the cabins as we did not see the inside or talk to anyone about them. DIRECTIONS:
From Murphy, NC and points West, Drive east on US Hwy. 74, watch for mile marker 24. Go 3/10 mile past mile marker 24 and turn RIGHT onto Happy Valley Road. Also 1.8 miles past Wal-Mart. At night look for lights shining upward as you approach Happy Valley Rd. On RIGHT. From Andrews, NC and points East, Drive west on US Hwy. 74, watch for mile marker 25. Go 7/10 miles past mile marker 25 and turn LEFT onto Happy Valley Road. At night look for lights shining upward as you approach Happy Valley Rd. On LEFT. I-75 Southbound from Points North of Cleveland, TN, Exit #25 (Route 60 East). Continue on rte 60 to and exit at Hwy 64 East. 64 merges with with Hwys. 74/19. Follow directions above just past mile marker 24.     |
