Sebastian Inlet State Park is located 10 miles south of Melbourne Beach and 6 miles north of Vero Beach, Florida. The park lies on both sides of the Sebastian Inlet, which forms the boundary between Brevard County, known as the Space Coast and Indian River County, known as the Treasure Coast.

In 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt declared Pelican Island the first national wildlife refuge in the United States. Sebastian has retained a distinct charm over the years. The park spans one thousand acres and stretches over three miles of the barrier island. Sebastian Inlet joins the Atlantic Ocean and Indian River Lagoon.  This park is a favorite for catching snook, redfish, bluefish and Spanish mackerel from its jetties.

Sebastian Inlet State Park also offers the Bedtime Story Camper Lending Library of picture books for campers ages four to nine. Ask at the South Ranger Station to find out how to check out a book from their Lending Library.

We camped here in December 2018 in our Travato van and enjoyed bicycling and walking the mile-long Hammock Trail. There is a multi-use 40-mile paved path that runs through the park parallel to state road A1A and, in sections, parallel to the Indian River Lagoon. There are three mountain bicycle trails located within the park that are a combination of off-road and paved courses.
