NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

Shell Island
Panama City

This is a former military reservation and has over one-and-a-half miles of beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and Grand Lagoon. There are two fishing piers, a jetty, and a boat ramp to provide plenty of fishing opportunities.

Two nature trails wind through rich diverse coastal plant communities. This provides a great opportunity for bird-watching.

The beach is always beautiful and relaxing. A great place to sunbathe or lunch under the shade of a picnic pavilion.

The campsites are beautiful and mostly shaded. The bay is visible from almost every site. We really didn't see a bad site in the park. We found the bath facilities to be extremely clean and well kept.

History buffs will enjoy touring the Old Cracker Turpentine Saw Mill.

Shell Island Boat Tours are available during the spring and summer.

A walk around Gator Lake is a must. The lake is full of alligators and can be heard slithering into the water.

We camped here for a week in late October of 2012 and enjoyed cool nights and warm days. We loved bicycling through the park and sitting on the pier.

We loved this park and will go back again. Savannah Rose and Dakota Blue had a great time and as you can see from the picture below, they were exhausted on the ride home.

DIRECTIONS:
From Hwy 98 turn South onto Hwy 3031, Thomas Drive, and follow it to Hwy 392 and turn left to enter into the gates of St. Andrews State Park.
Park is located approximately 3 miles east of Panama City Beach.
