Turkey Swamp Park is a Monmouth County Park located in Freehold Township, NJ.
The park was purchased in 1963 and additional land was purchased in the 1970s. The Turkey in the name was adapted from the town's previous name which is now known as the unincorporated area of Adelphia.  There is not a swamp here in the park but at times there are swampy conditions because the soil is sandy and the water table lies slightly beneath the surface.

The park features a 17-acre lake for boating and fishing. Boats are available for rent in the park. The archery range is open all year and features seven shooting stations, varying from 15 to 40 yards. Each station is composed of two excelsior bales. Users must provide their own equipment including paper targets. No broadhead arrows allowed, only field points. Those under 18 years of age must be supervised by someone age 21 or older.

There are 8 miles of trails here in the park and we really enjoyed the Manasquan Trail leading to the Manasquan River. See our Hike and Bike Trails for more information.

We camped here in June 2017 for two weeks and enjoyed being in the woods and hiking the trails.  The lake is beautiful in the morning to sit and watch the ducks. We had great cell signals here in the park for both Verizon and TMobile. We didn't get many channels on antenna tv. The park is very quiet during the week but fills up fast on the weekend with a lot of tent campers. We were able to get by with 30 amps because the weather was nice and cool and we didn't need the air conditioner. We shared the water spigot with our neighbor so be sure and bring 50 ft of water hose. We would camp here again.
