Victoria Bryant State Park is in northern Georgia's upper Piedmont and a real treat to visit. The park opened in 1952 when Paul E. Bryant of Royston, GA dedicated 45 acres of land as a memorial to his mother, Victoria Osborn Bryant. Today the park offers 500 acres to hike, bike, picnic and fish. A beautiful creek flows through the park and has a natural rock slide in the shoals area offering a place to have a quiet picnic.
RV and primitive camping is available with 35 RV sites and 8 platform sites for tents only. The sites were gravel and very level with plenty of room between each site. Reservations are not site specific. There are three playgrounds for the children and two fishing ponds. There is not a boat ramp but electric boats are allowed in the ponds. The swimming pool is small and open seasonally. Organized groups may use two pioneer campgrounds. The Pioneer #1 is for 75 people and Pioneer #2 for 50 people. Shower passes are available for $5 per person per day for Pioneer camping. The Perimeter Trail is a 2.5 mile easy to moderate trail but does have a few steep hills and gave us a wonderful workout. We had views of the golf course, a stream and of course the woods. This trail is orange blazed. The Broad River Loop Trail is 3.5 miles and has a Beaver Pond observation overlook. This trail is blazed purple. The Inner Loop Trail is a connecting trail and runs through the Pioneer camping area for about 1.5 miles one way. This trail is blazed yellow. The Victoria's Path trail is just 0.5 miles and takes you along Rive Creek. This short trail is blazed green. Victory Bryant also offers the 18-hole Highland Walk Golf Course with clubhouse, golf pro, junior/senior rates and a junior golf program. The course's Bluebird Cottage is available for overnight golf packages. The course is built on steep, rolling hills and is very beautiful.
