Columbus by Palomino
We have our new Columbus Palomino 364RL by Forest River! This did not happen without a couple of hiccups. On Wednesday, October 9th, we went to Peco Campers at 9 am, started our camper demonstration at 9:15. Travis, who gave the demonstration, was very good. he was patient with our many questions. Sherrian tried to record everything on her iPhone, but not enough room and on top of that, my Flip would not record. Over-all, the demo went very well, however, our brains were thoroughly scrambled.
About 12:30 we completed the paperwork and wrote the big check. I always wondered how canned cat food tasted. After relinquishing a good part of our retirement proceeds, we might find out!
Having a great fear of driving a new F-350 Dually, pulling a 40ft fifth wheel, we went to a Sam's Club parking lot to practice. Turning into the entrance, my trailer tires kissed the curb. After driving for awhile and hitting imaginary curbs numerous times, we broke for lunch, and went back out to hit more imaginary curbs and cars. We then went back to Peco and borrowed Travis for some personal instructions. he was great and gave some good tips.
After all of that and setting my ego aside, I decided to do what I felt was the safest thing and not drive the camper 40 miles in Atlanta's weekday traffic to H&H Storage in Buford GA. I was just too tired and stressed out for this undertaking. We left the camper at Peco, agreeing to pick it up Saturday morning. Driving home, we took the route we thought would be best for pulling the camper. This was a smart move.
