The Big Purchase

Friday evening we received a phone call from Peco Campers in Tucker, GA telling us the Columbus by Palomino 365RL has arrived. Saturday morning we walked through the camper and made the decision to purchase our new 5th wheel. We also were able to trade in our 19ft Travel Trailer at a decent price. We can't wait to pull our new 5th wheel to a campground. Now all we have to do is buy a truck to pull the 5th wheel.

The people at Peco Campers were great, especially Chris and Kevin. Chris gave us a tour of the camper and demonstrated a few features. Kevin was a great help in advising on a truck. He had a tow rating guide and was able to tell me if the trucks I am considering will do the job safely.  I think I'm going with an F350 Dually Crew Cab Short Bed and use a slider hitch. The dually will give me the stability I'm looking for and is rated to tow 22,600 lbs. which is more than enough since our loaded 5th wheel will barely hit the 16,000 lb mark. I won't have to fuss at Sherrian when she stocks her kitchen with an iron skillet!
