Poor, poor Jim. Jim and Amanda are a very nice couple from South Carolina who arrived at our site at River's End Campground the day after we arrived. After arriving, Jim stepped in a bed of fire ants. On Sunday he did a Savannah Bike Ride. Part way in to the bike ride the rider in front of him fell and Jim toppled over her spraining his hand and shoulder plus road burn on his face. That nite after walking his dogs, he and Amanda returned to their motor coach and found themselves locked out. After many phone calls we found a lock smith to come within an hour. It took the lock smith about fifteen minutes to get them in the door and thankfully no damage to their motor coach. Jim and Amanda were such a nice couple and we were glad to give them our assistance. We hope Jim is feeling much better by now. We also met Dennis and Terry from Savannah. They camp at River's End often and told us all about the good places to eat and those to avoid. We hope to see them again if we return to Tybee Island. Also, we got great advice on our search for a dually truck from both Dennis and another camper, Ken. Although a little cramped because it is a resort campground, it was really great because everything was so accessible. Beaches, restaurants, and shopping were all within walking distance or a short bike ride. The biking was terrific with miles and miles of biking on the surrounding streets and residential areas and a Lighthouse Museum. We also attended an art show on Saturday nite and an arts and crafts market on Sunday. Sherrian even bought a few Christmas presents. We also erected a new screened canopy made by Street Logic. It was easy to put up and provided much needed protection from the sun. All in all it was a great trip to Tybee Island and for a more complete review and pics see our Tybee Island page.
