Winter 2014

We are ready to go!

Christmas was wonderful and we really enjoyed our son, Jason and his wife, Neilly visiting for the holidays. We were able to take them to the rv and show off a little. It's time for winter to move out and spring to arrive.

My last day at work is in July and I am hoping my company will allow me to work from the RV wherever we go. If not, I will try either camp hosting or finding temporary part-time work in a nearby town. Maybe I'll find something through Workampers.

At any rate, we have our truck, we have our fifth wheel and we are ready. Every day we are checking out places we may want to stay at both State Parks and private resorts. The problem with State Parks is you are very limited on how long you can stay. We want to stay two, three or four months.

Our first choice for winter 2014-15 is southwest Florida. Anywhere near Clearwater and south would be great. I think this summer we may drive there and try to pick out a park.

In the meantime, we have been stocking our camper with the essentials, grill, rug, chairs, etc. I still need a 50amp Surge Guard.

Other than winterizing, the only RV maintenance we've done is to keep a check on the dehumidifying crystals, the mouse traps and to air everything out. Hopefully this cold weather will be over soon and we'll get out and do some local camping.
